Xu Liuping, a deputy to the National People’s Congress (NPC) suggested during the two sessions period to lift restrictions on vehicle purchase and implement relevant policies on boosting auto consumption and development at a faster pace.
When interviewed by People’s Daily, Xu Liuping, also chairman of FAW Group, said that China’s automobile industry is facing major opportunities brought by consumption restructuring and innovation-driven transformation.
“We all long hold that independent innovation is the impetus for FAW to pursue high-quality development and to obtain new round of competitive advantages,” said Xu Liuping, adding that FAW will speed up the promotion of R&D of core and key technologies, and build FAW into a world-class, globally competitive firm at an early date.
“In this year’s government work report, ‘expanding domestic demand’ has been risen up to a national strategic level, and a number of measures, including ‘further cut taxes and fees’, ‘deepen reform of SOE’, and ‘popularize NEVs’, actively respond to the concerns of manufacturing sector, and will strongly facilitate auto consumption and development”, said Xu.
